Review: Missha Red Ginseng Sheet Mask

Remember in the previous I mentioned that I will be reviewing the skincare products I received in my Althea package. Well, here is the first one.

I will be reviewing Missha Red Ginseng Sheet Masm today. This is my first time seeing red ginseng being used as one of the ingredients in a skin products. I do know that people consume red ginseng for stamina, but I have never heard of red ginsnsg being applied on skin. I guess the koreans like their ginseng so much that they put it in almost everthing. On a serious note, I actually googled on the benefits of red ginseng on the skin. And I found out that it has a anti-aging properties and helps to rejuvenate the skin. Just what I need after a long day of work!

The facial mask's packaging with dried red ginseng on it

Haha the packaging reminds me of those extract that koreans like to consume for health reasons.

Review: Laneige Water Drop Tinted Lip Balm

Guess what arrived at my doorstep today

It came safely and nicely packed with lots of bubble wraps in the evening.

That's right! I bought the newly released Laneige Water Drop Tinted Lip Balm. Compared the prices on Qoo10 and on retail. It is going for S$33. I think I paid about S$25 on Qoo10. But the downside of buying online is that you can't try it before buying.

Realised that the box is slightly dented but all is good because the tinted lip balm inside was not damaged.

Review: Laneige Balancing Emulsion (Sensitive)

It has been sometime since I review a face product. Today I will review Laneige Balancing Emulsion for sensitive skin. This is my second bottle Laneige Balancing Emulsion for Sensitive skin. I finished my first one and decide to get another one because it is good. I use it as moisturiser… according to a Sephora shopkeeper, this can be used as one.

I am someone who doesn't like to put one any moisturiser since I hate the sticky feeling of most moisturiser I have used before. I don't like obvious feeling of having something on your face. Since I know the importance of moisturiser, I decided to look for a moisturiser that is light, non-sticky, non-oily. This product really does it well.

Review: SK-II Facial Treatment Repair C

This will be my first SK-II product review. Since I am still a student, SK-II products are way above my budget. So it will be rare for me to review SK-II. I've tried their treatment essence and I find it great, but too expensive for me continue using.

Today I will review SK-II Facial Treatment Repair C. I suppose this product is targeted more towards the middle-aged and older because it aims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and roughness to refine skin texture and elasticity. Basically, nutrient rich serum that contains mainly Pitera (like most of SK-II products) and Hydraulic Acid. According to SK-II website, Pitera is a clear liquid rich in vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids.

Review: Nature Republic Blemish Lab AC Moisturizer

Hey all! Sorry for the lack of updates. Honestly, I have lots of products to update but I just could not find the time to do. Today's review would be one Nature Republic Blemish Lab AC Moisturizer. I've used this for 8 months. This products line is actually the one that rescued my skin when I was super stressed last year.

Do you know that a breakout on your skin could be lack of moisture? Moisturizer can also prevent wrinkles. Yes that how important moisturizers are! In fact it is a must in your skin regime. So how to check if your skin has enough moisture? Slightly press on your skin (with clean hands of course), if there is slight bounce to your skin, your skin probably has enough moisture.

Back to the product I'm am about to review. What I like about this moisturizer, is that it is not oily at all. It is also light and smooth when apply on the skin. As you can see, the color is more translucent than those opaque white moisturizer thus does leave and residue on your face. The effect is quite immediate too. For those who are concerned about fragrance, yes it is fragrance free.

I'll rate is 5/5!

Review: Hada Labo Whitenning Lotion Refill

I just finished my first bottle for Hada Labo Whitening Lotion. So far loving the result I get from it except for the sunscreen lotion part as I have mention in my review for the lotion itself. (Click here to see)
Last friday after my driving lesson, I decided stop by Watsons to look for new products for my skin. Guess what? I saw Hada Labo Whitening Lotion Refill. So, I bought it. But, from the packaging I think Hada Labo actually made some improvement to the lotion. "New Nano Formula" is printed on the packaging. Anyway, I am still loving it despite the changes.

Some pictures:

The refill comes in a blue colored packaging that is similar to some detergent refill that you can find in supermarket. However, the packaging comes with a special and smart feature that prevents you from spilling these precious lotion while pouring in your empty Hada Labo container.

How to pour using the special feature :D
The special feature that I am talking about is actually a a small plastic thinggy that can be bent into a curve like structure making the refill satchel to have a tube like structure.

Cut at the dotted line
Trying to cut and take picture
Tube structure that I've mentioned
Mission accomplished
Pros:
  • Its is cheaper compared to buying a new bottle of Hada Labo (The refill costed me $18 while a new bottle will cost me $22)
  • Its more environmentally friendly then buying a new bottle
  • I feel that the new formula makes the Hada Labo less stick after application
  • Loving the tube structure that assist in pouring

Cons:
  • Cant think of anything at the moment.
I will rate this 5/5.

P.S. One good news! I just passed my driving test.. ke ke ke

Review: Hada Labo Whitening Lotion

A few months ago i bought his hada labo moisturizer plus whitening lotion. Theoritically, its function is to hydrate and plus whitens your skin. This moisturizer has been quite popular in singapore and its is a relatively cheap whitenning lotion. In japan it is #1 whitenning lotion that is being bought every seconds!

I was quite shock that the lotion is actually very watery and not like those creamy texture that is the usually form at which most lotion can be found in. It has no smell. So for those you hate perfume added into skin products, you may like this lotion. the color of the liquid is semi transparent.

At first I didnt quite like this product as I could not see its whitenning effect on skin. So, I stop using it for awhile....
However, after I went for facial treatment that left me with those acne scar (its a really reddiness stop about ... ermmm... lets just say its quite huge and visible) after its extracts puss from the acne, I started using hada labo whitenning lotion. (I was in a hurry looking for solution to get rid of the scar since I dont use makeup). And so I realize the lotion wasn't as bad as I thought. It kind of accelerate the recovery of my scar and it is less visible now. Plus, its hydrate my skin really well and its not sticky if you were to apply it in a correct manner. Its kind of lock up the moisture throughout the whole day.

I will rate this product 4/5. It you have any questions feel free to comment below and I will reply to your enquries ASAP! (Dont be shy hehe...) :D Sayonara folks!

Here are some pictures of Hada Labo Whitening Lotions:

Review: Faceshop Guava and Mango Moisture Body Lotion

Sup all. Exams finally over so as promised I will review more products. As i grow older I realized my skin gets dry very easily. Dry skin is bad because your skin will be prone to breakage that way. And your skin is also prone to acne when it's dry. I bought Faceshop Guava and Mango Moisture Body Lotion a month ago to try it. Paid $12-$15 for a 300 ml bottle. It comes in a press on bottle (is that what they call it? ) rather a tub. I think those which comes in a tub are quite unhygienic when you have keep digging for it.

Okay here's my say on this product: the lotion smells more like mango than guava & mango. The smell is really sweet so if you are not fond of sweet smelling products (like me) I suggest you avoid it. After application, the lotion can be a little sticky sometimes but not oily.

Before
After
Lastly, I feel that the moisturizing effect of the lotion is mediocre. I would rate this product 3.4/5.
I am still looking for a body lotion with a strong moisturizing effect. Do recommend if you know of any.

Oh for those who are still having exams, all the best and remember that "Nothing worth having comes easy" :)
