Side Talk: Anime Recommendations 2013/2014

I first watch anime when I was in secondary school. I remembered my 'first ever' anime was Naruto and Bleach. I did watch One Piece and Gundam when I was in primary school but I don't consider as my first ever anime since I watched them because it was shown on a local broadcast TV... in order words I watched without knowing they originate from Japan. Now I am 22 years old and I still watch anime, most people are shocked when they find out I watch animes.

What are my requirement when deciding if I should watch an anime or not? I look at their animation or should I say drawing, if they are to my liking. I like certain style of anime, and the characters have to look handsome haha. I might still watch the anime if the characters do not look the way I like, provided they have really good story lines HAHA!

As stated in the title, I would like to recommend anime that I have watched or still watching this year. They are not in any specific order.

1. Soul Eater Not

Genre: Comedy, Slice of life, Supernatural
In term's of its animation/drawing, it is really not the style I will like. I have low expectation on this one, but it turn out really good. Don't worry if you have not watched the main series of Soul Eater, I did not watch it too but I was able to understand the story fully.

The first half of the story is more about how these three students are adapting in their Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA). There will be a turning point in the story which explains the occurrence in the first half.

2. Witch Craft works

Genre: Action, Comedy, Fantasy, Romance
I love stories with female warriors... because I support the empowerment of women haha. Some of the witches powers are really cute and there is also mix of comedy.

3. Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (still airing)

Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Science fiction, Supernatural, Military
This is not your typical anime on Magic Academy. The 'magic' featured in this anime has its scientific explanation. It has a strong plot. I like how the magic is being animate in this anime...it looks so electronic. I also like how the characters are being drawn. It can be a little difficult to follow if you didn't read the manga like me due to all the technical terms they use in the anime. But fear not, there is introduction videos for you to familiarize with the anime. Also if you clarify your understanding, you could always go to their official english website. I will give more details on it when I finish watching it.

4. La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky

Genre: Music, School, Shoujo
The story is pretty predictable just like other La Corda d'Oro series. I'll say the past series are better. I watch this for the classical music. If you wanna see Ikemen playing musical instrument, then watch this!

5. Inari KonKon Koi Iroha (released in 2013)

Genre: Romantic, Comedy, Supernatural
Not much to say about this, it is pretty easy to follow. There will be an unexpected love line in this one. The small comedy parts are quite enjoyable.

6. Hataraku Maou-sama! (released in 2013)

Genre: Action, Comedy, Fantasy, Romance
This is one of favorite few anime. The anime title translates to the 'The devil is a part-timer'. It about how a devil and its arch enemy, were teleported to earth and how to try adapt to human daily life. It is a must watch.
