Review: Hada Labo Gentle Exfoliation

As some of you guys know scrubs that consist of exfoliation bits may exert to much stress on our skin and even damage our skin. As such there is thing called gentle exfoliation that are very easy on our skin. One of the product that is Hada Labo Gentle Exfoliation. Hada Labo seems to causing a buzz in singapore so I decided to try it out.

Hado Labo Gentle Exfoliation
One of its main spotlight ingredients are AHA and DHA (as you can see from the picture). AHA helps in exfoliating dull skins without causing harm to it. Whereas, DHA are particularly an important ingredient ingredient as it theoretically helps it removing whites and even black heads. If you have sensitive skin, I believe you should use such gentle "scrub".
To ensure "freshness" of the product
This product also have a safety seal to ensure quality of the product. (Warning: Some customers like to open the caps skin of product to smell if or for whatever reason and they end up not closing the caps well. This can cause bacteria to invade the product!!)
Backview
The above picture is the backview of the tube. You can press the picture to enlarge it. It consist of information of how to use the product, ingredients and why it is important to have one.
Similar packaging like other cleanser
Its really creamy. I swear!
My stand of this product is that this exfoliation cleanser is extremely gentle on my skin and I really like aftermath of its usage. My skin feels extremely smooth/soft and it kind of glows. It do helps in removing small white heads.
However, it doesn't seems to help me in removing blackheads on my nose and other persistent white heads on cheek. (My previous cleanser was able to do so). Furthermore, AHA that contain in this product may potential cause black spot on your face due to its reaction with UV light. As such you need sunscreen with this product even though your at home since UV light is able to penetrate through the windows. (Thats right... So I only use it at night) I find it quite troublesome to apply sunscreen even when I at home.
I rate this product 3.5/5 due to it's downside I mentioned above. It 2am. I should sleep now.

Virgin experience with zalora.com.sg

I did my first purchase from zalora on 24th April 2012 and it arrived on 3rd May 2012 (do your math on how long it take). A lot of people complained regarding their long delivery period, I find it okay though. I bought two shoes. I'm kinda impressed with the packaging. The items are neatly wrapped. But only one of the shoes comes with a box. Here are the pictures:
Box the items came in
Packaging

I usually use size 36(uk3) however the blue loafers are a little tight and the black one is extremely tight for size 36. Do take note if you are considering buying shoes from zalora!

Review: Faceshop Guava and Mango Moisture Body Lotion

Sup all. Exams finally over so as promised I will review more products. As i grow older I realized my skin gets dry very easily. Dry skin is bad because your skin will be prone to breakage that way. And your skin is also prone to acne when it's dry. I bought Faceshop Guava and Mango Moisture Body Lotion a month ago to try it. Paid $12-$15 for a 300 ml bottle. It comes in a press on bottle (is that what they call it? ) rather a tub. I think those which comes in a tub are quite unhygienic when you have keep digging for it.
Faceshop Guava and Mango Moisture Body Lotion

Back view

Okay here's my say on this product: the lotion smells more like mango than guava & mango. The smell is really sweet so if you are not fond of sweet smelling products (like me) I suggest you avoid it. After application, the lotion can be a little sticky sometimes but not oily.

Before
After
Lastly, I feel that the moisturizing effect of the lotion is mediocre. I would rate this product 3.4/5.
I am still looking for a body lotion with a strong moisturizing effect. Do recommend if you know of any.

Oh for those who are still having exams, all the best and remember that "Nothing worth having comes easy" :)

Review: Sephora Express - Stop the spot!

Hello again!! It has been a long time since I posted a review. I have actually quite a number of new purchases waiting for my review but I am currently busy for exam preparation. Physics paper tomorrow  X.x.. Hopefully, I will do well.

Today I am going to do a short review my new purchase from Sephora. It is a pimple cream and also a spot remover. Yup it is 2 in 1. (P.S. I just bought a new phone Samsung S2 so the pictures gonna be nicer :) )

Sephora: Stop the spot!
The back of the tube
It comes in a small white tube about 15ml. The application of the product is simple and easy. Since it is a tube-like container with a small hole (look at the photo below) you just have to squeeze out the geland apply it any pimple or spot you want. The gel is transparent (trust me it is really transparent) and it smell like errr.. glue? Haha... I'm not joking.

Structure of the tip for easy application
Transparent Gel

My stand for this product is that it is not sticky on the face and does not leave residue on the face like some pimple cream. It is also effective as I can see visible reduction in pimple size and color intensity seems to reduce after several application. Rate: 4/5

Review: Etude House Skin Malgem Smoother

Wooohooo! At last I manage to grasp some free time to review skin malgem. I realized many have been visiting this blog for Etude malgem review. But for now, I am only going to review on Etude house skin maglem smoother type. There were several types (6 kind actually for this line) toner that Etude house just released: Fresh, Smoother, Moist, Deep Moist, Essential and Emulsion. They one that I bought is the one that Onew (Shinee) represented (though I am actually fan of Key and Taemin.. hehe). I bought this for only $16.90 shipped from korea. I'm not sure how much it will cost in other country and Singapore. I think this line is yet to be released in local store. But I am sure that it will around $30 or less. (Korean skin products tend to be more expensive in overseas)

Review: TonyMoly Berry Berry Nutrivive Face Scrub

I know I promised to review this product  a week ago but I've been so busy with school work :(
Nevertheless, here goes...

I bought TonyMoly Berry Berry Nutrivive Face Scrub for S$10 per 150ml. It's dirt cheap!! So I thought I should give it a try. I never had any proper face scrub anyway. I'm not sure if this can be found in Singapore outlets though.

The big tube of face scrub
The tube is sealed when first received
Make sure the product has the authentic TonyMoly  seal  (sticker)

The scrub has of maroon/black bits in it to help exfoliate the skin. Its not very clear in the picture. I'll say the concentration of the bits is in the mid-range. I usually put about two cm on my finger to scrub my skin since the bits are not a lot. The scrub has this berry smell (not strong though). When you mixed it with water it does not lather, just very little bubbles.

On my first try, the scrub gives little bumps on my nose and cheeks. Probably comes from the effect of exfoliation and I haven't scrub for quite long. The bumps disappears after a day. I do not get those bumps after subsequent use. I usually get lots of white heads on the area below my lip as well as on my chin. After using this face scrub, I realize the white heads has significantly reduce. I'm really happy with it. However it isn't      very effective in reducing black heads on my nose. Gotta use nose pack to remove it. I love the clean feeling after the using the face scrub. My skin is less oily the next day after using the face scrub too.

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the product. I'll give 4 out of  5 for this.

Review: Faceshop Pure Water Facial Mist Jeju Flower and Jeju Marine

Today I'm going to review on TheFaceShop Pure Water Facial Mist. It comes in 3 types. However, I bought and tried only two of it (JejuMarine & JejuFlower). I simply love it product as it hydrates my skin and does not clog my pore like other moisturizer. As I have mentioned some moisturizer that I've tried before clogged my pores and makes my skin look horrible... my skin will look oily instead of being moisturized. Clogged pores also means more pimple, whiteheads and blackheads (can be quite bothersome to remove and it can make your pore big). Hence, it is important to find the right moisturizer for your skin!

Review: Faceshop Real Nature Mask Pomegranate

Studying has been productive today. No motivation at all! Why me??

I shall review a face mask which I used yesterday night. Maybe I will get back my motivation later though half of the day is gone.

Yesterday night, I used Faceshop Real Nature Mask Pomegranate. It's called 'real nature' mask because it contains 1,000mg of pomegranate extract. Extra facts: eating pomegranate actually helps improve digestive system which may help in preventing acne. Besides the juice has anti-aging properties. Pomegranate is rich in vitamin B1 and B2. The mask is suppose to help in increasing elasticity.
Faceshop Real Nature Mask Pomegranate

Ingredients - always check them if you have sensitive skin!

How it looks like inside

So after using it, I don't find the mask fantastic. The mask does not give the oily trace directly after use it. It doesn't make your skin oily too. But I find the cutting of the mask is a little odd. How should i put it. The    holes for the eyes and mouth is a little too big relative to other mask I've used and the cutting masks it difficult place it nicely on my face. Besides that, my pimples got bigger when I woke up today. Bummer! Maybe the mask does not suit my skin. By the way, I have a combination skin type. And my skin feels a little oily than usually, I'm not sure what it's caused by though. I'll rate this product 2.5/5

That's all for now. I better get back to doing my tutorials, they are waiting for me!

Review: MJCARE Lemon Essence Mask + Side Talk

Recently, I started watching Moon That Embrace The Sun. I really like the plot and the child actor and actresses. Their acting skills are great to the extent that I was hoping that the child actors/actresses will just continue the plot without replacing them with the adult actors and actresses. Hehe. Well... Maybe they can change the Lee Hwon, Heo Yeon and Seol (because they look slightly kiddish) to the adult version and remain the rest of the cast. I am still waiting eagerly for the episode 7 & 8 to be subbed! XD Can't wait to see the development between Prince Yang Myung and Heo Yeon!

Moon That Embrace The Sun

My Fav Male Cast In The Drama

Heres my review for MJCARE Lemon Mask:

The feel and the essence of the mask is similar to the review stated in my MJACRE Mung-Bean Mask. Whats different about this mask is that it has a crispy lemony smell similar to lemon air freshener smell. (but it is not exactly the same) I'm a huge fan of lemon smell ! The mask was really refreshing when I wore it. And yes it is refreshers my face and moisturizes my skin well. However, there is an anomaly. It also makes my face significantly whiter and I can see that my face is glowing after use. (Even though, the manufacturer did not mentioned that is will whitens my skin. This makes me the love the mask more!) In overall I rate this mask 4/5 since it is a wonderful mask and seriously cheap. Will purchase this again in the near future. Sayonara!

P.S. For those who are interested in this mask, I actually bought it from gmarket.

Review: Nature Republic Whitening Collagen Dream Mask

JYJ ~ Looks like I'm gonna sleep well tonight
You're wrong I'm not going to blog about JYJ/kpop today....

I'm going to review Nature Republic Whitening Collagen Dream Mask. I think I know why they call it 'dream ' mask. Just take a look at the packaging.

Pretty packaging and it is endorsed by JYJ
(for those who doesn't know who is JYJ, it is a korean  boy  group)
First look inside, the serum is clear and not thick. The mask is sufficiently wet and there is not excess puddle of serum in the packet.
Clear serum
The first thing I noticed when I put on the mask is the scent. It smells great...a mix of flora and fruity scent. Probably comes from the witch hazel and orange extract in the serum. Witch hazel can reduce blemishes as well as inflammation of pimples!
Ingredients
Skin doesn't feel sticky at all after using the mask. In fact, my skin felt more relaxed. I checked out my skin the next day to see if there is any improvements. My pimple shrink-ed and blemishes on my face seems a little lighter. There is no oily after-effect too. However, I don't think it made my overall skin whiter. Haha.
I'll give the mask 4.5 out of 5.
It's unfortunate that all Nature Republic outlets have closed down in Singapore. WHY???? I really like their products. So for those who want to try out this 'dream' mask you can get it online for a fairly affordable price.

Review: Faceshop Raspberry Roots Depuffing Eye Gel

I recently bought Faceshop Raspberry Roots Depuffing Eye Gel. It cost me around S$29 (which is quite cheap for a eye gel/cream). It comes in a cute white and pinkish red tube.

Thefaceshop Raspberry Depuffing Eye Gel
I was actually looking for affordable eye cream that can reduce my eyebag and dark circles if I were to sleep late. It was easy to use because the tube allow you to squeeze tiny amount of eye gel and apply it under your eye. I would recommend that eye cream/gel user should dab the cream/gel lightly using your ring finger (as the skin under your eye it delicate and you would not want to worsen you eye bag or dark circles).

Review: NuTeen Sleeping Mask

NuTeen Tub

I'm on the roll today haha! Going to write a review on NuTeen Acne & Pimples Away Sleeping Mask. Bought this at Watsons after the salesperson introduced it to me. I was actually looking for NuTeen pimple cream, but it was currently out of stock during that time. Have been using it for months. So, I decided to post a review about it. As you can see from the picture above, the sleeping mask comes in a tub form and the back of the tub is direction on how to use it.

Description at the back.

The sleeping mask is in cream form. So, basically you have to use a stick or your finger to take some of the substance and apply it onto your face evenly before going to sleep. The cream is slightly translucent and greenish white. It has a distinctive smell that most NuTeen skin products have (you will recognize the smell if you have used NuTeen products before). I don't have much opinion about the smell. I neither like it nor dislike it.

NuTeen Sleeping Mask tub and cover
The sleeping mask on my skin

Consistency of the cream

As you can see, there not much cream left inside the tub because I have been using it for a few months.

What I like about this product is that it gives a very cooling sensation on skin after applying it onto my face. It does not require you to keep it in refrigerator to provide you with the cooling effect. It kind of relaxes you skin. After using it several times, I can actually see redness of my acne reduced and it dry up some of my small pimples. According to the salesperson, the sleeping mask can actually treat your acne or pimple. However, I sincerely feel that the sleeping mask is only effective on small acne/pimple.
If you're looking for sleeping mask that relaxes and cool down you skin, I would recommend you this sleeping mask. But, it may not be a good product for those looking for treatment for you acne prone skin. I will rate this product 3.5/5.

Review: MJCARE Mung-Bean Essence Mask

I've always like to put on facial mask. Its relaxing and does help in improving my complexion. I have to do it more frequently nowadays since stress from university has taken a toll on my skin. I would need to spend lots of money if I were to use brand-name facial mask too often. So I've decided to try on MJCARE Mung-Bean Essence Mask which only cost me S$0.49. Super Cheap!

MJCARE Mung-Bean Essence Mask
Thick essence

Instructions at the back

For those who live in tropical region remember to put it in the fridge before use for an extra refreshing effect!
As shown the essence is thick, so your face will feel a little sticky after use. For those who doesn't like that I advice you to avoid using it. My face also feels a little uncomfortable and itches a little. Maybe because of the material of the mask. According to the packanging, the mask it supposed to purify, moisturize and brighten your skin. After trying on the mask, I realize it also helps in drying pimples/acne.

Overall I will rate it 3.5 out of 5. I'll say the mask is alright for the price. I'm okay with the stickyness. However, I do not like how my skin feels uneasy while having it on.

I will post more reviews on MJCARE facial mask soon. Do leave comments if you have any questions.

And I know I'm a day late but HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR PEOPLE!!

Review: Za True White Day Protector

Firstly, I really like Za products as it seems to fit my skin type. I've been using Za face wash for years and I really like it. I was actually looking for a sunscreen to protect my skin from sun. Sunscreen is definitely important especially for those living in tropical weather like Singapore. As such, I decided to tryout Za True White Day Protector with SPF 26.

It comes in a cute white tube with pink words imprint on it. As you can see this line comes with Vitamin C and E. Vitamin E is known for its good properties that blocks skin from redness caused by the sun plus it is a good source of anti-oxidant. As for Vitamin C, it gives whitening effect on the skin.

Pros:
What I like about this product is that the cream is light and have great consistency. I don't need need a huge amount of it to cover up my face. I only need a few dots.
It also gives a white matte effect on my skin. It makes my skin looks whiter and smooth.

Cons:
It feels nice on the skin right after I applied it on my face. However, since i have a combination skin type, the sunscreen can be quite drying for certain parts of my face (esp. around my mouth and eye brows) depending on the weather. Whereas, during humid weather condition, it can be really oily and I can feel like something is covering my face (esp. around the T-zone area). It was really uncomfortable.

If you have combination skin like mine, I would not recommend to use this products. However, you can still purchase this product and directly try it out since skin care products react differently to different skin conditions. :) You can leave comments, if you have any questions to ask me!
