I went to Watsons today to get wax strips for my leg because I have not been waxing for so long and I have massage appointment tomorrow. I don't want to shock the therapist with the amount of leg hair I have HAHA. I have been using Veet wax strips since I was in secondary school. It cost about S$17. Today, I realise that there is a cheaper alternative which is Nair easiwax which cost only S$10.45! The only difference is that Veet one contains 18 strips and 4 after wipes while Nair easiwax contains 20 strips and 2 after wipes. I bought Nair easiwax this time round. Now let me show use the content of a box of Nair easiwax:
Alright, today's will be about Etude House Aloe Moistfull Soothing Mist. Furthermore, it is my second buys.
Aloe moistfull soothing mist
My first bottle was a tiny 50ml bottle (which depleted very quickly after I found out my nephew played with it by spraying it on the floor *sigh*). My currently one is 120ml bottle which is less portable but at least I don't have to keep ordering it online.
I was actually looking for a mist to sooth and cool down my sensitive skin that occur due to the recent haze. My skin tend to react to haze and it get very sensitive. I can see redness around my T-zone and also more bumps around my face. Furthermore, the haze cause my skin to be oily at some area and very dry at the other parts.
After years of blogging, I finally get my first Nuffnang cheque. The amount is not a lot. I cashed out on 7th November but received it on 2nd December. It took pretty long I would say. But I found out it is better to cheque towards the end of the month because that is when they send the cheques. You need at least $50 dollars to cash out and $1 of admin fees will be deducted.
I decide that I should occasionally do food review on this blog too after my first food-related post on Swensens' mooncake here. Hope you readers like it :). Yesterday, my sister and I decided to have an impromptu dinner after a long day at school. It has been quite some time since we pamper ourselves with good food since year 4 in university has been quite hectic. So we decide to NEX at Serangoon since it is on the way and it has quite a few halal eateries there.
I arrives at NEX first since NTU is further away than NUS. I had to wait for 30 minutes or so. We settled for So Pho, since my sister is craving for something soupy. There wasn't a queue but we had to wait quite sometime to get a seat. However that place was pretty packed.
We had Pho Bo (Vietnamese Slice Beef Noodle Soup) and Lychee Mint Freeze for drinks. I think Pho Bo is their specialty. I didn't take long for food to come, but it took quite long to the waiters to take our orders. I guess they are short of staff.
I would say that the Beef noodle is pretty good. The noodles are nice and chewy, I really like the texture. The soup is nice too, with a just enough hint of spiciness. The portion is pretty generous. The bowl is big, I thought it would just be because of the soup. But there is generous portion of noodles and beef.
Hello readers! As promised I will be reviewing Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask.
One of pet peeves is having visible white heads or black heads on my skin. I am prone to having white heads on my skin. When I stayed up late consecutively, I will start seeing white heads sprouting on below my lower lip, chin area and sides of my lips. I also get paranoid when that happens, because I fear if people can see it when stand close to me. There are lots of products for black heads but not much product are available for specially white heads. I find Skinfood Egg White Pore Mask relatively effective for my white heads treatment.
Walking around in malls during Mooncake Festivity always makes me salivates, from all the mooncake fairs happening at the atrium. We decide to join the festivity by buying moon cakes this year for our family to share even though we don't celebrate Mooncake festival because we are not ethnic chinese. But it is not just any mooncake, it is ice-cream mooncake (a less traditional kind).
The moon cakes are packed in a box and filled with dry ice in order to prevent it from melting during your journey home. It also came with a free cooler bag. Just a tip when you are cutting the moon cakes, do let it thaw for about 5 minutes before you cut, or you will have difficulty cutting like I did. My knife got stuck in the moon cake.
Before I review on skinfood face mask, I will first do a review on Laneige Trouble Spot Gel Cream which I bought together with Laneige Balancing Emulsion. You can find the review for the latter here. I was using the trouble spot gel cream one night and realized that I am about to finish. The a thought hit me 'I better do a review on it soon since it such a good product'. So here I am.
I bought this on impulse when I was in Korea in January since it was cheaper than in local. I did not do any research whatsoever. It surprisingly pretty good.
It has been sometime since I review a face product. Today I will review Laneige Balancing Emulsion for sensitive skin. This is my second bottle Laneige Balancing Emulsion for Sensitive skin. I finished my first one and decide to get another one because it is good. I use it as moisturiser… according to a Sephora shopkeeper, this can be used as one.
I am someone who doesn't like to put one any moisturiser since I hate the sticky feeling of most moisturiser I have used before. I don't like obvious feeling of having something on your face. Since I know the importance of moisturiser, I decided to look for a moisturiser that is light, non-sticky, non-oily. This product really does it well.
I first watch anime when I was in secondary school. I remembered my 'first ever' anime was Naruto and Bleach. I did watch One Piece and Gundam when I was in primary school but I don't consider as my first ever anime since I watched them because it was shown on a local broadcast TV... in order words I watched without knowing they originate from Japan. Now I am 22 years old and I still watch anime, most people are shocked when they find out I watch animes.
What are my requirement when deciding if I should watch an anime or not? I look at their animation or should I say drawing, if they are to my liking. I like certain style of anime, and the characters have to look handsome haha. I might still watch the anime if the characters do not look the way I like, provided they have really good story lines HAHA!
As stated in the title, I would like to recommend anime that I have watched or still watching this year. They are not in any specific order.
1. Soul Eater Not
Genre: Comedy, Slice of life, Supernatural
In term's of its animation/drawing, it is really not the style I will like. I have low expectation on this one, but it turn out really good. Don't worry if you have not watched the main series of Soul Eater, I did not watch it too but I was able to understand the story fully.
The first half of the story is more about how these three students are adapting in their Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA). There will be a turning point in the story which explains the occurrence in the first half.
Benefit Brow Bar is where we go to get our brow fix. This is my second visit to Benefit Brow Bar and we are quite satisfied with results. Instead of the traditional plucking of the brows, Benefit Brow Bar offers Brow waxing instead. It uses hot waxes to remove and shape brows.
This is the area where we did our brow waxing. The white container like thinggy, is where hot wax are kept warm. And do not worry leaving the bar sticky with excess wax on your brows, because the person will remove them and there will be no trace of the wax.
This will be my first SK-II product review. Since I am still a student, SK-II products are way above my budget. So it will be rare for me to review SK-II. I've tried their treatment essence and I find it great, but too expensive for me continue using.
Today I will review SK-II Facial Treatment Repair C. I suppose this product is targeted more towards the middle-aged and older because it aims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and roughness to refine skin texture and elasticity. Basically, nutrient rich serum that contains mainly Pitera (like most of SK-II products) and Hydraulic Acid. According to SK-II website, Pitera is a clear liquid rich in vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids.
Instead of doing the usually review, I would like to tell you more on how to request for sample online. You can easily request for samples through Facebook pages and websites of the products. Below is the list of products where you can get samples!
Cetaphil Singapore - remember to like there Facebook page first. Each NRIC can only request one sample
This post is going to be relatively picture heavy as compared to my past post. Today, I am going to review Nature Republic Aqua Collagen Solution Eye Treatment Mask. I bought this from Korean in a pack of 20. This definitely cannot be found in Singapore because Nature Republic has retreated from Singapore few years ago (bummer). Nevertheless, if you are really keen in trying it out, maybe you could try and find it on qoo10 or Nature Republic outlet in Johor Bahru.
I bought The Face Shop Real Nature mask sheet bundle set late last year. I think they changed the design of the packaging not too long ago. I reviewed a Face Shop Real Nature Mask before, you can check it out here. I bought the sensitive skin series, this time. I think it cost me about S$22 for a pack of ten. Where else if I were to buy individually mask, it will cost S$2.50 (if I can recollect properly). I tried the kelp mask few days ago. Personally I like the Aloe Vera mask in the sensitive skin series. I used all the aloe vera mask long ago, so I will not be review it unless I buy it again.
The first picture is picture of the back of the box. It states the uses of each mask. So according to the box, the kelp mask 'eliminates skin impurities', 'protects and purifies skin for a clearer complexion'. I always check on my skin after using any mask the night before. In the case of the kelp mask, I did not experience and irritation of breakouts. I feel that the liquid from the mask was absorbed by my skin relatively well. My skin felt smoother too.
I know this has nothing to do with skin care, however I am still going to review it simply because… I like perfume! I hope that some reader find the information useful.
I never stick to one type perfume. Right after I used up a perfume, I'll get a different one. Today I will be reviewing Honey by Marc Jacobs EDP which I bought at Lotte Duty Free in Incheon Airport (Korea) before boarding the plane. The 100ml bottle cost me about $104 sgd and it comes with a miniature 4ml EDP bottle. I did not know if it is any lower than if I were to buy in Singapore. I just got the hunch that it is cheaper at Lotte. I found out that it cost about $140 in Singapore and I don't think it comes with the complimentary travel size bottle. Boy, I was glad I bought it (finding out that I saved some $$ also helped to reduce my guilt..haha).
I have heard of hype over this product. Many reviews says that it will work wonders. So I decided to buy it when I visited korea in January (because it is cheaper). I bought the complete pack (total 3 types), but today I will only be reviewing the Blackhead Out Oil Gel.
I really had high expectation when I bought it. Unfortunately, the effectiveness fall short of my expectation. Why? I will tell you more in the later part of the post.
The product has really nice packaging but I kinda feel cheated when I realised that the gel itself it so little compared to the container. I cannot really remember how much it cost in korean won but I do remember it not being cheap. The gel is translucent and has small yellow bits in it. It also has a citrus scent to it.
I usually don’t
buy any skin product from etude house in Singapore as it tends to be overprice compared to other Korean brands like Faceshop and etc.
But during
my recent winter trip in Korean I had a very very dry lips. My sister actually
brought along a lip moisturizer however is does not work that well. My lips
actually went dry again after half an hour or so. (Which is kind of annoying, I
have to apply moisturizer repeatedly).
So, I
decided to go in Etude house outlet near my hostel while waiting for my other
friends. We went and asked if they sell lip moisturizer that does not have any
tint.
